How Phenophase is funded

Last updated June 2026

Phenophase is free to read and carries no display advertising. To support the work, some outbound links may be affiliate links: where one appears, it is marked as sponsored in the page code, and if you click it and then book or buy something, Phenophase may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This disclosure is made under the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guides on endorsements and affiliate relationships (16 CFR Part 255).

Where it would apply

As Phenophase grows, affiliate links would point to trip-planning partners: the kind of camping, lodging, or trail-map services you would use to plan a visit. None of that changes the verdict. A commission never influences what a place's verdict says or which conditions we show. The verdict is driven by the live data, full stop.

Recommendations are our own

Any place we cover or service we mention reflects a real opinion about its usefulness, independent of any affiliate relationship.
